چکیده
For simulation-based acquisition t o effectively lower life-cycle cost and cycle t i m e , the ability to make good design decisions early i s a significant driver. Building virtual p r o t o t y p e s , enabling one to analyze the impact of d e c i s i o n s , achieves effective simulation-based acqu i s i t i on processes. Virtual prototypes need to support a comprehensive set of analyses that will b e performed on the product; hence, all aspects o f product data and behavior need to be represented. Building virtual prototypes of complex s y s t e m s being designed by a multi-organizational team requires new architectural concepts and redesigned processes. Implementation of these new archi tectures is complex and needs to leverage c o m mercial technologies to achieve feasible s o l u tions. One must also carefully consider the s t a t e of the current commercial technologies and frameworks as well as the organizational and cultural aspects of organizations that use these s y s t e m s . This paper describes key architectural p r i n c i p l e s that one must address for a cost-effective i m p l e mentation. The paper then discusses key archi tectural concepts and trade-offs that are neces sary to support virtual prototypes of complex systems.

Investigating the application of web-based simulation principles within the architecture for a next-generation computer generated forces model
With a heavy emphasis on distribution and reuse, web-based simulation portends a dramatic shift in the application of simulation as a problem-solving technique and decision-support tool. Next-generation simulation systems of all kinds should be evaluated and constructed with an appreciation of the potential paradigm shift that web-based simulation represents. Fiscal constraints indicate that ne...
متن کاملHealthy Generation Components on Acquisition, Application, and Transferring Values to Next Generations According to Islamic Views and Genetics
Background and purpose: Generational health analysis on the acquisition, application, and transfer of intergenerational values is an important issue from the perspective of religion and genetics. Healthy generation means generational solidarity and lack of disruption or crisis in generations despite generational differences. The purpose of this study was to identify the common points and soluti...
متن کاملDynamic resource management for QoS provisioning over next-generation IP-based wireless networks
A significant issue in current research pursuits is the formulation of the requirements and basic design options for the next-generation wireless network architecture. The next-generation of wireless systems will support a diverse set of access technologies and mobile devices, formulating a broad heterogeneous environment with increased requirements on network support operations. It is expected...
متن کاملI-37: Establishing High Resolution Genomic Profiles of Single Cells Using Microarray and Next-Generation Sequencing Technologies
The nature and pace of genome mutation is largely unknown. Standard methods to investigate DNA-mutation rely on arraying or sequencing DNA from a population of cells, hence the genetic composition of individual cells is lost and de novo mutation in cell(s) is concealed within the bulk signal. We developed methods based on (SNP-) arraying and next-generation sequencing of single-cell whole-genom...
متن کاملLayer Manager-Based Wireless Overlay Model for Efficient Mobility Management in Next Generation Networks
This paper proposes an architecture of multi-tier Wireless Overlay Network (WON) with Layer Manager (LM) for vertical handoff (VHO), switching and mobility management using Mobile IP protocol. It discusses the inter-layer mobility and Quality of Service (QoS) support in this architecture. Various functionalities of the Layer manager are implemented as modular blocks and are distributive over th...
متن کاملNext Generation Interactive Scientific Experimenting Based on the Workflow Technology
In this paper we explore to what extent the conventional workflow technology and service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles can be applied to support scientist in their experiments. Based on the requirements imposed on systems for scientific computing, e-Science and simulations, and an extended workflow life cycle we introduce the architecture of an interactive system that reuses the conven...
